First thoughts about going exchange

About one week ago I got the letter of acceptance from Budapest University of Technology and Economy(BME). Since that I have found a flat via ESN from Budapest between Railway Station, big shopping center and the river. The distance from the flat to the university is about 7 kilometres which I can travel by bike or metro. It will probably take no more than ~25 minutes either way. There is near a park in Margaret Island where I can go to run. I'm thinking also going to gym. I have read about few alternatives and most likely I will go to Gym City quite near the flat or Astoria Fitness closer to university.

I kinda regret I didn't apply for whole year but maybe this gives a chance to go later again! I have two clear targets for this exchange period. I want to be able to write proficiently technical reports and be fluent and confident when speaking English both professionally and in free time. Also I want to make some good friends, get experience as much as possible and travel a lot in Eastern/South Europe.

One of the reasons I applied to BUTE is because it has courses in Energy technology by which I might be able to compensate some of the equivalent Lappenranta courses. Also Budapest seems very nice and interesting city with some old buildings, spas and underground bars.
